Taste of Renewal

This spring, The Westin Resort will debut Guam’s first interactive dining restaurant.
Our renowned international buffet restaurant, Café Kalachucha will undergo a transformation.  Replacing Café Kalachucha will be a modern and instinctive interactive dining restaurant named taste.

taste will be the third Starwood branded restaurant of the Westin Resort, Guam along with mix@cha cha cha and Prego.  The $1.5 million facelift will commence on March 23rd and is scheduled to reopen as taste on May 30th, 2009.

“This is a very exciting project not only for The Westin but also for the island of Guam,” says Krister Svensson, General Manager of The Westin Resort, Guam.  “As consumers both on and off island are getting more sophisticated and discerning, the concept of taste will bring a whole new dimension to their dining experience.  We are proud to be the first to bring in the incredible theme of the open kitchen with its tantalizing aromas, exhilarating action and fresh foods from all over the world.  That is a concept that is unique to The Westin.”

The newly transformed restaurant will boast of a spacious and unique open kitchen concept to showcase a tantalizing array of cuisines prepared in front of your eyes.  Guests will be delighted with the renewed version of Café Kalachucha’s popular breakfast, lunch, Sunday brunch and theme night dinners.  In addition to those sumptuous dishes, there will be an aromatic open pastry/bakery station, an exotic tandoori oven, a tantalizing rotisserie and fresh teppanyaki and sushi and sashimi station.

With its high ceilings and clean lines, taste can seat up to 200 guests.   Additional seatings can be accommodated for those special events as the location is also a favorite for weddings and large social functions.

During the transformation, guests can still enjoy our regular breakfast, lunch, Sunday brunch and our Friday ‘Dine Around the World’ and Saturday ‘Ocean’s Bounty’ theme buffet dinners at an ocean view banquet room on the 3rd floor. If banquet rooms are unavailable, breakfast and lunch will be served in Prego Italian Restaurant on the 4th floor.
